Congratulations Dr. Joseph Lee

KITCHENER— Kitchener’s Dr. Joseph Lee is being recognized with a regional family physician of the year award from the Ontario College of Family PJOEhysicians.

The award is presented annually to seven family doctors in Ontario who provide exemplary care to their patients and are involved in activities that contribute to excellence in family medicine.

Doctors are nominated by their peers, and an award is presented to a doctor from each region of the province.

Lee is the recipient for Hamilton-Niagara-Haldimand-Brant and Waterloo Wellington. He will receive the award Wednesday in Toronto.

He created and heads the Centre for Family Medicine Family Health Team — one of the first family health teams in Ontario. He was involved in developing the McMaster Kitchener-Waterloo family medicine residency program, and created the Community Ward Health Link team in Kitchener-Waterloo to support vulnerable patients who have difficulty accessing care.
