October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) is available for women age 50 and over.  Most who are tested have normal results, and very few are found to have breast cancer.  However, it is very important to diagnose the small number of women with breast cancer as early as possible in order to provide the best chance of successful treatment.

At the OBSP you will receive a digital mammogram which utilizes an advanced technology to better detect breast abnormalities.  It is recommended that screening should be repeated every two years.

The OBSP offices are located at:

Freeport Health Centre – 3570 King Street E., Kitchener (519) 749-4270
or
Cambridge Memorial Hospital – 700 Coronation Blvd., Cambridge (519) 740-4999
