Inter-Professional Education: Clinical Nutrition
Masters of Nutrition students are accepted from the University of Guelph’s MAN program and Brescia College, University of Western Ontario’s two year Master’s program.
Students are accepted from September to June, Monday to Thursday.
The Masters student will see a variety of patients throughout the lifecycle. 80% of the experience will involve the delivery of medical nutrition therapy. 20% of the placement will be health promotion.
The other professionals that a student might be exposed to include: physicians, pharmacists, family therapists, nurses and nurse practitioners.
What makes our learning experience different is that Nutrition students are learning a collaborative approach of providing medical nutrition therapy with an inter-professional health team.
As quoted from past students…
“Excellent learning in an inter-professional setting”
“Great introduction into primary health care”
Preceptor: Marg Alfieri, Clinical Dietitian
