Pain Management is a way of recognizing, identifying and treating pain.
Pain may be physical, psychological, social, spiritual, or a combination of all of these. Studies show that the best pain management is achieved by a thorough assessment and then treatment provided by a collaborative, multidisciplinary care team.
Our team includes Dr. Kim Moore, a CFFM Family Physician with a special interest and experience in complex pain management as well as a pharmacist and nurse.
The teaching and learning of medical residents, pharmacy students and other learners is an important component of this clinic. You can expect to see learners in addition to other team members and Dr. Moore at your clinic visits.
The chronic pain team works carefully with each patient and his/her family physician to develop an individualized and comprehensive treatment plan that includes both medication and non-medication approaches to pain management.
